John joins Vivid IP with a highly competitive background—in more ways than one. Prior to earning his degree in Criminal Justice from Kennesaw State University and a Paralegal Certificate from the University of Georgia, he served as Director of Operations for a collegiate basketball program. As paralegal for Vivid IP, John applies his expanding knowledge of IP law, penchant for process improvement, and all-in team mentality toward supporting our attorneys and empowering them to be more effective, productive, and client-focused.
Known for learning on his feet and steadfastly pushing through challenges to victory, John looks forward to continuing to build his law career while advancing the Vivid IP brand and the brands of our clients.
What makes Vivid IP unique?
“In my short time here, I’ve already been made to feel like a valuable part of the firm. It’s clear Marcy has a genuine interest in growing and evolving the practice by helping her team grow and evolve, and by encouraging us to take initiative, take ownership, and—of course—always get the job done.”
Outside of practicing law, what are you most passionate about?
“The newest addition to the family—our son, Theodore. My wife and I are also crazy dog-people. We’ve got three at home and have adopted two of them within the last couple years. I’ve also traveled extensively, having lived in the UK for a number of years and visited at least 25 different countries and five of seven continents. (Haven’t made it to Australia or Antarctica yet!)”
What are your hobbies?
“I’m sure this isn’t a surprise—but I’m an avid Atlanta sports fan, supporting all of the local teams (Braves, Falcons, Hawks, United). I’m also a movie fanatic. I own around 1,000 films and would guess I’ve watched at least three times that many.”
What’s one piece of advice you’ll never forget?
“It’s not advice, per se, but more of an example to follow for my career. My mother worked at Coca-Cola for close to 40 years before retiring, and seeing how she fought through all of the battles and worked her way up from an office manager in her small hometown to a pretty important position with the company has taught me that loyalty is not a lost art.”
